There are multiple ways to protect a PowerPoint presentation.
Microsoft provides built in protection when you try to save the file using
security options dialog.
Among other security related options you can add password to open and password to modify, which
add different levels of security to your document.
With password to modify MS Power Point 2007 and 2010 allow you to forbid modification while
allowing viewing the contents of the presentation.
Traditionally products of Microsoft Office were using weak
cryptographic schemes which allowed breaking secured workbooks, presentations
and documents. We are using well known methods to restore a 40 bit encrypted
PowerPoint presentation guarded with password to open.
Opening protected presentation without knowing the password usually requires some computation resources and
processing time, however we can perform such password recovering almost instantly.
These days the latest versions of Power Point are using strong
AES encryption which is significantly harder to break.
PasswordNow.com supports password recovery for Power Point presentations
created in versions 2007 and PowerPoint 2010. For older versions please check
our desktop software tools.
For special cases we can offer you a services which utilizes
our high performance cluster. Such attack has good chances of success even
for most complicated encryption algorithms used in modern MS Office.
If you cannot get your data back we give your money back.

I've got a PPT file on an old PC from a former colleague.
When I tried to open it, there was some message saying that password is incorrect.
After googling a little I found this website and it was able to recover the password for my ppt presentation!
